Through my vlogmas project I'm forcing myself to see the creative potential of random "garbage" that has been selected for me. Just as quantum moments tend to be, the work of artist Elias Sime has come to my attention this month.
Elias Sime is an assemblage artist from Ethiopia. He creates captivating relief paintings from traditional building materials (e.g. mud and straw) and discarded items (e.g. circuit boards, broken toys, bottle caps). The design and texture of his work is dynamic and his innovative use of discarded items is inspiring. Below are some of his works along with a great video that explains his inspiration.
