Frances Gearhart was born on January 4th. She was an influential printmaker who was known for her dark lines combined with a moody atmosphere. She studied art in what is now UCLA. She also learned from her sisters who studied under Arthur Wesley Dow who I wrote a post about, here. She regularly exhibited her work and collaborated with her sisters on book illustration and curating exhibitions. The images below were found on the website, francesgearhart.com, which is dedicated to cataloging and sharing her work.
