After visiting the studio of marble sculptor Ted Strandt see video here I thought it’d fun to seek out more contemporary artists who are using traditional stone carving to express contemporary ideas.

Hirotoshi Itoh mixed media and added a story to the sculpture. Making you wish the next rock you found had a little zipper!

Yutaka Sone's choice of medium makes the big city feel both small and delicate while also strong and permanent.

Sibylle Pasche is awesome. She makes some huge organic marble sculptures that look like they've been worn by natural forces but really all done by her. Check out her video here.
