O.k. follow me here, because I don't know how else to explain the relationship.... My husband's-sister's-husband's-mother [brother-in-law's mom???] is an amazing quilter. Every time we get together we talk art and go on and on about the creative process.
It's sooo inspiring!
Quilting is on my list of things to learn. I have a sewing machine but haven't learned how to use it yet. Her work and that of the artists below make me want to pull that thing out right now and learn how to sew!
I saw this piece below in person while I was in another gallery. The piece translated so well from a distance I skipped the rest of that room and went straight to this one.
I don't know how many times I've looked down from a plane and thought, "Whoa! that would make for some awesome art but what medium would work best?" Apparently, it's quilting.
Those charming houses, the print within the shapes, the mix of media, amazing colors...I'm a huge fan of Anna's work!
My electro-boho senses are freaking out over these last two. I just want to drape them over my hammock, snuggle up, and stare at the birds and trees.
