I'm feeling super inspired!

It's a great feeling that I know won't last because.... well, it just doesn't. So I'm making a list of the project ideas I'm coming up with and trying to pinpoint the spark so I can reawaken the inspiration when it starts to fade.

I think Dartily is a major influence because it's about being fearless, organizing thoughts/inspirations, and it encourages art making or discovery daily.

The book Creativity [Csikszentmihalyi, Mihahly. Creativity. New York: Harper Collins, 1996. page348-358] provides the following list on how to acquire creative energy. Here are a few points the author makes that I think Dartily is fulfilling for me.

  • Curiosity and Interest: try to be surprised by something everyday, when something strikes a spark of interest follow it.
  • Cultivate Flow in Everyday Life: wake up with a goal, to keep enjoying something you need to increase it's complexity.
  • Habits of Strength: take charge of your schedule, make time for reflection, shape your space, figure out what you like and hate doing, start doing more of what you love and less of what you hate.
