The art project for the boys this week was making Shekere. The process for making them can be found here. Below is the progress of making one with the boys.

While making the example, I had predicted my boys would lose patience with all the knot tying involved with this project. So I had the two boys work together on one shekere and I limited the number of strings so there would be fewer opportunities for beads. Then I had them each do a few knots but I really did most of them. Which worked out just fine because one kid held the shekere for me while the other sorted and found beads. It made the entire process much easier and faster.

I'm very proud at how well my boys worked together. They were laughing and giggling the entire time and didn't fight at all!

Of course, a beyblade spinning in a box of beads was the greatest thing ever!!!
