October is only half way through but I feel like I've been on a crazy art adventure.
Above are my recent knit patterns. I'll go into more detail, probably tomorrow, when I finish the first piece on the left. For now, I just want to share what kind of artwork has been stewing in my brain this past week.
I have a sort of personal policy with artwork. Before I can jump into a new piece I have to finish (or nearly finish) my current projects. It's a policy that ensures pieces get DONE. So before I could start the pieces above I had to get major progress done on my halloween knitting. This year I will be "The Knitter" and my son one of my "Knittens". You can find full description here.
Below is my son's costume. All the major stuff is done and it's blocked. I was a bit worried about the different types of yarn because as you can see it drapes differently. However, it fits fine and in the end really adds to the deconstructed look. All that is left to do is a face structure on the hood and contrasting yarn details throughout....ya know, monster it up! Easy stuff that won't take me long.
For my costume I needed color specific mitts and a scarf (both I intend to wear more after halloween). I finished the mitts last week and they've seen some good wear since then. The scarf is well under way over 3/4 through...so again won't take me long to make the rest happen. Everything else we need for our costumes is just accessory stuff that isn't DIY'd. So with this progress made I felt comfortable to jump into the above knit art portraits which I'll share soon!
