Finished Bulky Knits
I got so much knitting done this week thanks to bulky yarn!
First finished object was a cowl/infinity scarf for my kiddos. They got a black scarf like this for Christmas and sometimes fight over it. Another version had to be made to keep the peace [and to take goofy pictures in].
Second was a 1 day knit. I saw Valerian, which was a visually stunning picture but the star was this big cozy hat. So, I made myself one.
I think I totally nailed the look but it fits a tad looser than I'd prefer so I might use the remaining yarn to try a smaller size with the yarn double stranded but....eh, maybe not.
I also finished a knit painting while obsessively listening to Leonardo da Vinci but I'll share it after its done blocking and collaged with one of my drawings.
I have one work in progress to share. Its a pair of fair isle mittens for my oldest. They are big...super big. I keep wanting to rip them out and start over smaller but the kiddo does have bigger hands than mine and he wants a pair of big chunky mittens. He loves the size I'm getting so I'll continue and fight the urge to start over.
I realize they don't look like much in the picture above but that's probably because it's not a traditional geometric fair isle pattern. He chose the awesome Candlesmoke mitten pattern by Twist Collective.
Next up in my knitting adventure will be finishing the mittens, casting on another knit painting, and I'll be participating in the Aroha Knits 5 Shawls; 5 Days challenge.
